This is not often used alone but mostly as an adverbial suffix with verbs, e.g. kamaut.

1. to be out, to be gone, on the loose
   em i no stap long haus, em i aut = he is not home, he is out
   hos i lusim banis na i aut pinis = the horse left the paddock and is out loose
