aran, arang

Source language unclear: any clues?

C. Kocher Schmid suggests aran/arang is the preferred term for Pandanus conoideus in the islands and in coastal and lowland New Guinea and marita inland and at higher altitude, with marita reserved for inedible varieties in coastal and lowland areas.
