apim

Mihalic gives this as a shortened form of litimapim or liptimapim. But hardly anyone uses these outside church (liptimapim nem, ‘to exalt’) nowadays and apim has become the more usual form.

   apim prais raise the price

   apim pikinini! pick up the child!

3. apim nem to praise, to boast ® liptimapim
   em apim nem bilong em yet he boasts about himself
